Description

Ever wondered how this amazing material is created and how our ancestors managed to extract it from the mountains and then manipulate it to create such masterpieces?

In this hands-on experience you’ll be taken outside a village in the heart of Naxos in an imposing marble quarry where you’ll discuss about ancient and modern methods of mining, quality standards and so much more, with one of the quarry owners.

We will then continue deeper in the Mainland and in the village of Apeiranthos, also known as “the marble village”, being almost entirely built with Naxian marble. You will enjoy a quiet stroll around the marble streets, learn all bout the village’s history, before we sit down at a family-run tavern to enjoy lunch made with local recipes.


With our heads full of knowledge and our tummies full of delicious food, now is the time to attend a 2hour marble sculpting workshop!

A professional marble sculptor will welcome you to his working space and teach you how to create works of art with this amazing material.

By the time we leave, you will have carved your personal souvenir, a masterpiece of your own!

In the case that you are unable to attend the scheduled activity, your deposit will be refunded or partially refunded according to the following fee schedule:

  • YOUR DEPOSIT IS FULLY REFUNDABLE UP TO 3 DAYS BEFORE YOUR TOUR DATE.
  • 0-2 DAYS (or 48 hours) BEFORE YOUR TOUR DATE, 0% IS REFUNDABLE.
  • NO-SHOW: 0% IS REFUNDABLE.
